Please visit our Help Wanted section for the latest job offerings. FIRE SUPPRESSION AID (FSA) REQUIREMENTS: High school or a G.E.D. certificate. This examination will consist of a qualifying written test covering basic math, identification and use of hand tools, and mechanical reasoning. Only those applicants who receive a passing score on the written test will be scheduled for the interview portion of the examination. The weights for the exam is 70% interview and 30% written. The exam will evaluate training, experience, personal fitness and general ability to perform the duties of this position. Prior to employment, candidates must successfully pass a physical agility test, medical exam, and a thorough background investigation. The physical agility test will be administered by the Fire Department and requires walking three miles in 45 minutes or less carrying a 45-pound pack. Information containing suggestions on fitness training for the agility test will be available for pick-up at the time of filing your application.
