FIRE SPRINKLER PLAN CHECK UNIT |

The Fire Sprinkler Plan Check Unit has the responsibility to provide plan review service for all structures requiring an automatic fire sprinkler system, fire pump and on-site (private) fire hydrants. This Unit interfaces with fire sprinkler contractors, architects, engineering companies and owners that provide design work for projects. The Fire Sprinkler Unit reviews and approves all types of fire protection systems plans including private underground water supply piping plans, sprinkler riser diagrams, overhead piping layouts, standpipe systems, fire pump, performance curves, and associated piping. They also approve special hazard systems for Petroleum Chemical occupancies such as fixed nozzle foam water systems. They perform hydraulic calculations for trees, loops and complex grid systems. The Sprinkler Plan Check Unit conducts fire pump and fire hydrant flow tests. |
