JUNIOR FIRE CHIEFS |
 The Los Angeles County Junior Fire Chief for a Day Poster Contest invites all elementary schools in Los Angeles County , grades 1 through 6, to participate in a poster contest with the theme "Visit Your Local Fireworks Show." The goal of the program is to translate the encouragement of the poster contest into action by reducing the number of fireworks- related injuries. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is committed to ensuring that the public enjoys a safe Fourth of July, each summer.
Six grand prize winners will be chosen from each grade and will be honored as “Junior Fire Chiefs for a Day.” The news media will be invited to attend the press conference, awards presentation and accompany the “Jr. Fire Chiefs” while they enjoy their activities throughout the day.
