The Lifeguard Division has a fleet of 12 Rescue Watercraft (RWC) that are strategically placed along the 72 miles of L.A. County Coastline. Operated by group of Certified RWC Rescue Operators made up of Ocean Lifeguard Specialists and Captains, these watercraft are a vital part of the Lifeguard Division. RWC’s are Used for Special events, in large surf rescue operations and on busy beach days. They can be deployed from any beach using a beach trailer deployment system that was made custom for launching into the ocean from shoreline. Their ability to get in and out of the surf surfline and rescue a victim quickly makes them the perfect tool for many rescue situations that our lifeguards deal with every day.
