Los Angeles County Sidewalk

Sidewalk “Hands-Only” CPR Day | Tuesday, June 5, 2018

It takes just 10 minutes to learn how to keep a cardiac arrest victim alive until paramedics arrive. Hands-Only CPR focuses on the first few minutes following a cardiac arrest, since the lungs and blood contain only enough oxygen to keep vital organs healthy for that amount of time.
You can learn Hands-Only CPR for free in your community on Sidewalk CPR Day, during National CPR Week. Firefighters and medical professionals will provide free training at libraries, stores, community centers, fire stations, medical facilities and other convenient locations across Los Angeles County. No appointments are necessary; just show up at any convenient location at any time during the hours listed.

Once you’ve learned CPR, download the PulsePoint app at pulsepoint.org and get alerted when a sudden cardiac arrest occurs nearby in a public place. Learn more.
