The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) observed National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week over April 9-15, 2017, honoring personnel at Command and Control, who are often referred to as the Department’s “first, first responders”.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Public Information Office led the annual fun-filled “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Children of personnel from throughout the Department came to headquarters to see some of the best parts of working as a firefighter.
On Monday, April 10, 2017, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors hosted the 35th Annual Volunteer of the Year Awards at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Grand Hall with the theme of “Volunteers: The Power of One”. Volunteers from throughout the County were honored, including two young men representing the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors issued five proclamations and adopted two resolutions.
On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby joined Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell and Los Angeles City Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas during a news conference in front of the LA Memorial Coliseum.
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors issued six proclamations and approved a request for services and equipment for the Fire Department’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) 9-1-1 telephone communications system.
