Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby was joined by representatives from the County, the City of Santa Clarita, and the Grossman Burn Center this morning at County Fire Station 126 to discuss the harmful effects of illegal fireworks, how to prevent fireworks-related injuries, and to encourage all residents to attend a professional fireworks show this Fourth of July.

At their June 20, 2018 meeting, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the Fire Department to hire a consultant to gauge voter support for a potential ballot measure in 2018, 2019 or 2020. This ballot measure would fund our critical equipment and infrastructure needs.

Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Captain Pat Long of Battalion 15, Fire Station 183, was presented with a 2018 Respect for Public Safety Award by the Pomona Optimist Club during its annual Respect for Public Safety Awards dinner. The event took place on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Mr. D’s Diner in Pomona.
On Thursday, June 14, 2018, Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) employee Jacqueline Quarles celebrated her 40th anniversary working for the County. Deputy Chief William McCloud surprised Jacqueline at her office with a gift of two bookends, commemorating her monumental achievement.
