When Los Angeles County Public Health (Public Health) issued a Heat Alert on Monday, July 23, forecasting high temperatures that could last for several days, residents in the inland valley areas of Los Angeles county prepared to stay cool and Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters were on high alert for brush fires.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Lifeguard Division responded to 477 ocean rescues, 521 medical aids, and 621 emergency vehicle rescues during the heat wave that lasted from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22, 2018.
The Los Angeles County Fire Museum at the Mayne Events Center in Bellflower held its grand opening on Saturday, July 14, 2018. The ceremony commemorates the completion of the brand-new building which now houses decades of historic Los Angeles County fire service apparatus and equipment.
The Los Angeles County Fire Museum at the Mayne Events Center will be hosting a grand opening celebration on Saturday afternoon, July 14, at its newly constructed building in Bellflower. The fire museum collection includes the popular Engine 51 from the 1970s TV show “Emergency!”, Granite Mountain Hotshots’ Buggy 7A, as well as other antique apparatus.
On Friday, June 29, Los Angeles County Fire Department Division VIII Assistant Fire Chief Jim Robinson and personnel from Fire Station 186 participated in a groundbreaking ceremony to support Southern California Gas Company and its Mobile Home Park Utility Upgrade Program in the City of Pomona’s Foothill Village Mobile Home Park.
