24th Annual Bellflower BRAVO Awards

On February 8, 2018, the city of Bellflower hosted the 24th Annual Bellflower Recognizes Acts of Valor and Outstanding Service (BRAVO) Awards ceremony at the William and Jane Bristol Civic Auditorium in Bellflower. Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Captain Dan Murchison of Fire Station 98 was awarded the BRAVO Award for Distinguished Service.

Chief Deputy David R. Richardson, Jr. was in attendance to acknowledge and congratulate the exceptional work of the first responders and community heroes, along with Mayor Schnablegger and members of the Bellflower City Council.

Captain Murchison received the BRAVO Award for his 15 years of service to the city of Bellflower. Murchison has a long list of great accomplishments from throughout his 33 years with LACoFD. He has volunteered in the training of new recruits, was part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Urban Search and Rescue Team for numerous years, and has served as a mentor to the youth of Bellflower through the “Rescue Youth Program”.

The city thanked Captain Murchison for his ongoing dedication and outstanding service to the citizens of Bellflower.
