The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Air Operations (Air Ops) Section was recognized at the weekly Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

During the special presentation, Third District Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger welcomed Sikorsky-Lockheed Martin’s Regional Vice President Jeannette Eaton and formally honored Air Ops team members for their dedication and service during the Woolsey Fire.

In February, Sikorsky bestowed its highest award, the Humanitarian Award, to Air Ops pilots and maintenance staff for their valiant efforts.

“The Department’s Air Operations team was flying through ash, day and night, for weeks while they fought to put out the flames,” said Supervisor Barger as she presented a special proclamation that recognized the Department’s good work while battling the Woolsey Fire.

LACoFD Fire Chief Daryl Osby graciously thanked the Supervisors for their continual support, presenting special gifts to them from the Air Ops team.
