At its regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors honored a member of the Fire Department and issued a proclamation.
The Board presented a scroll to Fire Prevention Engineering Assistant II Pravin Vora in recognition of his receipt of the Fire Prevention Perpetual Award of Excellence. This annual award, which coincides with Fire Prevention Month, is given out to a member of the Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Division for his or her involvement in fire prevention and community activities within Los Angeles County.
In other news, the Board proclaimed Oct. 20 to be “Conflict Resolution Day” to increase public understanding of peaceful and constructive ways to resolve all types of conflicts in a variety of settings. Conflict Resolution Day promotes the use of conflict resolution in different institutions as well as recognizes the contributions of conflict resolution practitioners.
