Join us on Saturday, February 23, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles County Fire Department Headquarters Training Center located at 1320 N. Eastern Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90063 .

Be prepared to participate in: Push/ups / Pull-ups / Sit-ups / Planks / Stamina (Beep) Test

Required Day 1 Exercise Attire:

  • Loose fitting mid-thigh navy blue shorts
  • Navy blue or white T-shirt
  • White ankle socks and running shoes

NO: Tank tops, stretch pants, skin-tight shorts or dolphin shorts

You will most likely have to take care of yourself, your family, and your neighbors after an earthquake or other emergency. Do you know what to do? Learn from the experts how to prepare and respond in the event of a major disaster.

HERMOSA BEACH – CLASSES BEGIN SATURDAY, MARCH 9, 2019

Following a major disaster, police, fire and medical professionals may not be able to meet the demand for emergency medical attention. Residents and neighbors may need to rely upon one another to help with immediate life saving needs, particularly in isolated neighborhoods that may be cut off from the main roads.

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training was developed through FEMA to provide basic fire safety and life saving skills.

All Classes are from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm

Saturday, March 9, 2019: Disaster Preparedness / Disaster Fire Suppression / Disaster Medical Operations, Part 1
Saturday, March 16, 2019: Disaster Medical Operations, Part 2 / Light Search & Rescue / Disaster Psychology
Saturday, March 23, 2019: CERT Organization / Terrorism / Course Review & Disaster Simulation Exercise

There is NO CHARGE for CERT classes.

Please note: You must attend all sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion. (If you need to miss a particular class for any reason, that class can be made up at a later time.)
