Each year, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Fire Department proclaim the month of October as “Fire Prevention Month.” The Fire Department, along with other public safety advocates encourage the public to take proper precautions and practice fire safety.
In 2011, the Department unveiled our Strategic Plan, entitled “Engineering Our Future.” With 12 goals, the Strategic Plan served as our Department roadmap with a focus on transparency and accountability, integrating technology into our profession, addressing risk management issues, and ensuring the welfare of our workforce…
Finding your way to public service is a calling and it does not matter which path you decide to take. Whether you are a firefighter, lifeguard, pilot, dispatcher, forester, mechanic or administrative professional, your choice to be part of the Department is a noble one and we always aim for you to succeed and grow. Just as we invest in you, we hope that you join us in our efforts to inspire others to also be part of our team.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department has a proud history of serving our residents and communities. From our front-line firefighters to our dispatchers, Prevention staff, lifeguards, nurses, and professional staff, I could not put into 140 characters or less how proud I am to lead a talented and skilled team of professionals who put our communities, residents and business owners first.
