Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby paid a visit to a fire education course for high school students at Somerset High School in Bellflower on Monday, October 21, 2019.  The course is part of the California Advancing Pathways for Students (CalAPS) program.

Chief Osby spent time speaking with students about the fire service. He encouraged them to find their passions and give 100% of their effort to make their passions into a lifelong career.

CalAPS’ chief executive officer, program coordinators and students were thankful for the Chief’s valuable input and advice.

The CalAPS program offers a wide range of college credit courses that prepares students for college and/or specific careers, including education and training for emergency services. For more information, visit CalAPS at https://www.busd.k12.ca.us/Page/33
