The LA5 Los Angeles Rotary Club of Los Angeles hosted a special reception and fire panel at the California Club on Friday, May 18, 2018. The panel featured leaders in wildfire response and recovery including Cal Fire Chief Ken Pimlott, Cal Fire Deputy Director Mike Mohler, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby, Los Angeles City Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas, Ventura County Fire Chief Mark Lorenzen, Monterey Park Fire Captain Scott Kelley, and a National Disaster Search Dog Foundation search dog and firefighter handler.
The event was created to give Rotarians an opportunity to thank those responsible for battling wildfires in late 2017, and to hear directly from these leaders about the challenges they experienced with the unprecedented number of fires that raged throughout California. The panel was moderated by Los Angeles Business Journal’s new Publisher and CEO Anna Magzanyan.
“For the state of California, we have the best mutual aid system in the world as it relates to neighbor helping neighbor,”said Chief Osby.
