LACoFD Captain Honored as Temple City’s “Firefighter of the Year”

LACoFD Captain Honored as Temple City’s “Firefighter of the Year” 150 150 Adam Carrillo

At the Temple City council meeting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, Mayor Nanette Fish presented Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Captain Ruben Ortiz with a plaque, recognizing him as the city’s 2019 “Firefighter of the Year”.

Captain Ortiz is an 18-year veteran of the Department and has served in the cities of Calabasas, Whittier, West Hollywood, Baldwin Park, Norwalk and Lynwood.

Currently assigned to Fire Station 47 in Temple City, Captain Ortiz has been involved with the Fire Explorer Program and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training.
