During National Public Safety Telecommunicators’ Week, the California Public-Safety Radio Association recognized ten Los Angeles County Fire Department employees for their good work. The 31st annual CPRA banquet took place on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Knott’s Berry Farm Resort in Buena Park.

FDII Stampwala gave life-saving instructions to a family as they delivered their newborn whose neck was entangled in the umbilical cord.

The team was recognized for staffing the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) dispatch center, so LBFD personnel could attend the funeral and mourn the loss of one of their own, Fire Captain David Rosa.

This team worked together to provide care in a unique incident. FDII Shin provided CPR instructions over the phone to FDI Washington who was on-scene doing chest compressions.

FDII Swain patiently guided frantic good Samaritans through CPR which allowed paramedics to get vitals and safely transport the patient to a local hospital where they recovered.
