The Los Angeles County Fire Department hosted its 19th Annual March of Dimes Barbecue at headquarters on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
The yearly event raises money for the March of Dimes whose mission is to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through research, education, legislative advocacy, and community service.
Last year, Department employees raised nearly $27,000 in support of the County’s annual March of Dimes campaign. This year’s goal is to surpass that amount and reach $29,000.
The March of Dimes Barbecue was sponsored by The Irving Moskowitz Foundation, King Taco, AMVAC Chemical, Hernandez Wholesale Flooring, Hawaiian Gardens Casino, F&A Federal Credit Union, California Water Service, Fireman’s Brew, Sterling Pacific Meats, and Commerce Casino. This year, Local 1014 donated two 49-inch televisions as grand prizes.
Thank you to all the sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make the event fun and successful!
