LACoFD Welcomes EMS Fellow, Dr. Natalia Alvarez WPPRO Administrator

The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) is proud to welcome Dr. Natalia Alvarez who is participating in a fellowship program through the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.  The fellowship program prepares emergency physicians to become EMS specialists and eventually work as medical directors of an EMS program or fire department.

Dr. Alvarez began her year-long training with the LACoFD on July 1, 2019.  She is working with LACoFD Medical Director Dr. Clayton Kazan to learn all aspects of medical direction, and will participate in emergency field responses and learn the Department’s medical operations.

“I am very excited to be training as an EMS physician in Los Angeles County. Throughout my training, I have heard of the talent at the Los Angeles County Fire Department and I couldn’t be luckier to train beside such a great group of providers,” said Dr. Alvarez.

Dr. Alvarez is a fully trained emergency physician and is a recent graduate from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Emergency Medicine Program.  She has experience in business administration and working as an emergency medical technician for a fire station in Florida.
