Lifeguards Respond to Boat Fire off Venice Beach

The Pacific Incident: At approx 15:09 The Los Angeles County Lifeguards responded to a report of a boat fire approximately 200yds off Venice Beach, adjacent to 1200 Ocean Front Walk. Once On-scene LA County Lifeguards rescued/removed 5 passengers; 4 Adults and a 4 month-old. After ensuring passenger safety, Los Angeles County Lifeguards along with LA County Fire Boat 110, & LA County Sheriffs began knocking down the flames. The boat fire was extinguished, inspected for structural stability, and towed to MDR.

The 4 adult patients were examined by paramedics and released at scene with no injuries. The 4 month-old patient is in stable condition but has been transported to a local hospital for further examination as a precautionary measure.
