Meet the New LACoFD HHMD Chief

Meet the New LACoFD HHMD Chief 150 150 Adam Carrillo

The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) promoted Assistant Chief Mario Tresierras to the position of Chief of the Health Hazardous Materials Division, Prevention Services Bureau. Chief Tresierras assumed his new position on October 17, 2019.

Chief Tresierras began his career with Los Angeles County in 1994 as a Health Inspector. In 1998, he joined the LACoFD as a Hazardous Materials Specialist. He is a registered Environmental Health Specialist with the State of California and has earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University Northridge.

“Our mission with the Health Hazardous Materials Division is to protect public health and the environment from hazardous materials,” said Chief Tresierras. “I am proud to have been selected to continue to meet these challenges on a daily basis and continue to ensure the health and safety of the citizens of the County of Los Angeles.”
