Momentum from last month’s ARISE (A Reason to Include and Support Everyone) Summit continues to build. The two-day event has helped pave a new road toward greater understanding and openness between management, the workforce, and potential Department candidates.
The inaugural summit focused on efforts to recruit and retain female candidates into the fire service as well as tackle challenges in the workplace.
We are building stronger bridges and finding creative ways to collaborate and work together toward systemic change – not just in our Department but also regionally. The goal is to cultivate an inviting environment that is diverse and truly mirrors the communities we serve and represent.
