The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s (LACoFD) Lifeguard Division is proud to announce the release of its brand-new field uniforms. On Sunday, February 4, 2018, LACoFD lifeguards began wearing the new beach uniforms. High-quality uniforms and personal protective equipment enhance the professional appearance and provide safety, comfort and functionality to lifeguard personnel. Improvements in the new garments include UPF sun protection, board shorts designed for women and weather-resistant jackets.
“The development and implementation of these new uniforms has been a five-year project that has been realized by the tireless efforts of the Lifeguard administrative team and the collaboration between lifeguard management and the Los Angeles County Lifeguard Association,” said Rescue Boat Captain and Administrative Captain Olivier O’Connell.
