The National Weather Service has put out a Gale Watch Warning for coastal waters off of Southern CA. Gale forced winds (35-40 Knots) are possible Friday afternoon through Saturday night. They are also predicting seas of 8-12ft for outer waters.

We would like to remind boaters that operating a vessel in Gale conditions requires experience and a properly equipped vessel. It is highly recommended that mariners without proper experience seek safe harbor. Remember when you boating off of the L.A. County coastline you can hail our Baywatch Rescue Boats on Marine VHF ch. 16 for help.

  • Always remember to wear a lifejacket while boating!
  • Always have a marine radio monitoring VHF Ch. 16 to listen for weather updates, distressed vessels or information from the US Coast Guard.
