Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby was joined by Fourth District County Supervisor Janice Hahn and the City of Whittier’s community leaders and dignitaries for the unveiling of a long-awaited firefighter tribute sculpture on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Fire Station 28.

The piece “Stronger Together” pays tribute to the heroic acts, hard work and sacrifice of all firefighters as it depicts the inclusive and diverse workforce of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

This is a personal piece for FS 28 as the Department remembers three of its courageous firefighters whom once worked at the station and lost their lives to job-related injuries: Fire Captains Gary Morgan and Porter Griggers and Fire Fighter Paramedic Richard Rowland.

Chief Osby thanked the City of Whittier’s residents, business owners, and it’s Community Foundation for their significant role in the completion of this special project.
