Los Angeles County Sidewalk

Sidewalk CPR Day
Thursday, June 6, 2019

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is partnering with the County’s Emergency Medical Services Agency, Department of Public Health, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and the American Heart Association to host the annual Sidewalk CPR Day on Thursday, June 6, 2019.  Our goal is to train 100,000 Los Angeles County residents with a skill that can potentially save someone’s life.
It takes just 10 minutes to learn how to keep a cardiac arrest victim alive until paramedics arrive. Hands-Only CPR focuses on the first few minutes following a cardiac arrest, since the lungs and blood contain only enough oxygen to keep vital organs healthy for that amount of time.
You can learn Hands-Only CPR for free in your community on Sidewalk CPR Day, during National CPR Week. Firefighters and medical professionals will provide free training at libraries, stores, community centers, fire stations, medical facilities and other convenient locations across Los Angeles County. No appointments are necessary; just show up at any convenient location at any time during the hours listed.
