Downtown Día De Los Muertos: Noche de Ofrenda

On October 28, 2017, Los Angeles County First District Supervisor Hilda Solis joined with local organizations and artists for “Downtown Dia De Los Muertos: Noche de Ofrenda” — a week long exhibition of altars and art in Grand Park LA.

Supervisor Solis’ alter, brightly decorated with skulls and marigolds, was dedicated to those who passed due to the Mexico earthquakes and Hurricane Maria. Photos of the aftermath of the tragedies and patches from the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s urban search and rescue team, the United States Agency for International Development and the Federal Emergency Management Agency were included in the design to honor the teams deployed to help the victims.
