Temple City Honors FC Muro as Firefighter of the Year

LACoFD Fire Captain John Muro is Temple City's 2017 Firefighter of the Year.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Fire Captain John Muro was honored as the 2017 Temple City Firefighter of the Year on June 6, 2017.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Fire Captain John Muro was honored on Tuesday, June 6, as the 2017 Temple City Firefighter of the Year.  Muro was presented with a plaque during an awards presentation given by Temple City Mayor Pro Tem William Man at the City Council meeting. Assistant Fire Chief Dave Thies, Battalion Chief Lonnie Banuelos, the Fire Station 47 crew, and Muro’s father, wife and children were in attendance.

Muro began his service as an explorer and cadet for the City of El Monte. He has a combined 17 year career as a firefighter for the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles Fire Departments. He joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 2000 where he has had the honor of serving the cities of La Crescenta, Florence, Hawthorne, Pico Rivera, Rosewood, South El Monte and Temple City.
