A stop at Camp 2 for participants in the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s VIP Tour on November 9, 2017.
On Thursday, November 9, 2017, the Los Angeles County Fire Department hosted “Los Angeles County Fire 101,” a behind-the-scenes VIP tour for key community partners from the ten cities and seven unincorporated areas Division I serves. Community Service Liaison Laura Walters led the tour that included stops at Camp 2, Air Operations, Lifeguard Operations and Department headquarters.
Attendees spent the day learning from and interacting with Department subject matter experts, including helicopter pilots, firefighters and communications dispatchers. This important tour was an opportunity for key community partners to see the inner-workings of the Department’s air, land and sea operations so that they can better understand the comprehensive fire protection and life-safety services provided in their respective communities.
