Board of Supervisors Recognizes LACoFD’s Nurse of the Year

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the Los Angeles County Fire Department's Senior Nursing Instructor, Yun Son Kim, RN, BSN, was formally recognized as the Department's "Nurse of the Year" at the regular meeting of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

The Board proclaimed May 6-12, 2019 as “Nurse Recognition Week” throughout Los Angeles County.  During that week, various departments celebrated registered nurses who play a vital role in emergency services.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Senior Nursing Instructor, Yun Son Kim, RN, BSN, was formally recognized as the Department’s “Nurse of the Year” at the regular meeting of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.  She was honored along with nurses from Health Services, Public Health, Mental Health and the Sheriff’s Department.

Kim joined the Department in 2016.  She earned this prestigious award because of her contributions to improving pre-hospital emergency care and her advocacy for patient care.
