Throughout Southern California, extreme wind conditions and low humidity contributed to a busy week for fire agencies.

Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) battled several fires, including the Tick Fire in Canyon Country, the Mureau Fire in Calabasas and the Brea Fire in Diamond Bar. Additionally, the Department recently provided resources and assistance to the Saddleridge Fire in Sylmar, the Easy Fire in Ventura County, the Getty Fire near Brentwood, the Kincaid Fire in Sonoma County and the Castlewood Fire in Fullerton.

As the current Region I coordinator, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby is responsible for overseeing large-scale incidents that affect Southern California. Due to the amount of fire activity, the Expanded Dispatch Center was activated in order to help facilitate all the needs anticipated with these fires.
